Could it be a Golf? Or the T-Rock? If we asked what Volkswagen’s best-selling car is, many answers would include these two models. Well, neither: it’s the Tiguan, its midsize SUV. And not since yesterday: it’s held that lead since 2017. So its third generation, which now sells from 39,180 euros (without promotions and discounts), takes a lot of responsibility.
The new model grows by three centimeters, to 4.54 meters in length, but hardly changes in width or height. The aesthetic leap is very big, evolving towards much more undulating shapes – in line with the Passat or ID electric cars – and, importantly, aerodynamic: the Cx drops from 0.33 to 0.28, which is a very significant improvement. Other details: wheels measuring up to 20 inches and Matrix HD headlights, each with 19,200 pixels that turn on or off to better illuminate the road and avoid blinding other drivers.
