DEDICATION

The year 84 was a year of dedication, of unquestionable dominance, culminating in the appearance of both titles on the brand’s showcases. The era of powerful and fast Group B rally cars had begun, and they immediately adopted all-wheel drive technology, because without it, it was impossible to beat Audi.
That season the winner was Stig Blomqvist, and the Sport quattro, known internally as “the short one” because of its wheelbase reduced by 30 centimeters compared to its predecessor, made its debut. This made the car much more manageable on very twisty sections.
In addition to winning the World Rally Championship, the Audi Sport quattro won the famous American ascent of Pikes Peak four times in a row from 1984 to 1987. The images of this car in the “Ascension to the Clouds” race are indelible to any fan who has seen them.
