The interior has two separate screens, contrary to the current trend. Up front, the steering wheel is 10.25-inch with wide configuration options, and a 12.9-inch is sufficient for infotainment, although there is another 15-inch, more spectacular or “appetizing”. The list of screens is completed by an augmented reality projection display and another on the small steering wheel, allowing you to change driving modes or interior colors.

TRUNK: UP TO 652 LITERS
We really liked the Ergo Active front seats with massage, heating, ventilation and electric adjustment. The rear is spacious and the bench seat can be moved 16cm. If you extend it to the maximum, the trunk volume reaches 652 liters. Or 490 liters if it is one of the plug-in hybrid versions (PHEV).
Because the new Tiguan can be gasoline, diesel, mild hybrid (48 Volt) and PHEV. Always automatic and with a 4×4 option. The power range is from 130 to 272 hp. The latter figures correspond to the most powerful plug-in hybrid. There’s another 204 hp, both with a 19.7 kWh battery, giving a range of 125 km in electric mode on the WLTP cycle (or 152 in the city). As for recharging, it maintains a constant current of 50 kW. The combined autonomy, adding the gas tank range, exceeds 800 km.
WITH ADAPTIVE CHASSIS
Our test was on a lightweight 150-hp hybrid that’s responsive enough in normal driving but not obtrusive when overtaking. It offers good steering precision and powerful brakes. But what caught our attention most was the adaptive chassis, an optional system that affects the electronic differential locks and damping, adapting to both the road and our driving style. It supports 15 levels of adjustment: the softest is best left for low-speed highways, while the stiffest gives the car excellent stability without causing discomfort.
